Scientist / Sr. Scientist

The Scientist / Sr. Scientist position will contribute to our ongoing efforts to make human stem cell tools with a focus on genetic engineering of stem cells.  

Skills and responsibilities:

• Perform genetic manipulation; construct, design and synthesis.
• Perform stem cell culture, gene targeting, subcloning, and genetic screening of targeted clones.
• Differentiate stem cells into terminally differentiated cells.
• Analyze cell-based assays of terminally differentiated cells.
• Define project goals, experimental design to achieve project goals, and organization and communication of experimental results.
• Perform general laboratory duties.

Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. degree in life sciences, or a bachelor’s or master's degree with at least 6 years’ laboratory experience.
• Excellent molecular biology and cell culture background. 
• Previous cell culture experience deriving and culturing stem cells a plus.
• Familiarity with genetic techniques, such as homologous recombination and piggyBAC transposition.
• Applicants should possess initiative, the ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to acquire new technical skills. Experience operating in a team-based multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
