Production Specialist I

The Production Specialist I position will manufacture and conduct quality control testing of finished product.
Skills and responsibilities:
- Understand basic laboratory concepts and be able to perform basic lab techniques. Including, aseptic technique and microbial culture.
- Follow manufacturing/ quality control protocols reproducibly within a specified timeframe.
- Apply good documentation practices when recording data and completing records.
- Follow production schedules to assure on-time delivery of finished product.
- Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to CDI business.
- Effectively communicate day-to-day activities within Production department.
- Assist in developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions.
- Provide data or information to others in work group, and assist in implementation activities.
- Maintain laboratory standards (temperature status, inventory, routine maintenance).
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in a specific discipline (i.e. Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry) or related technical field is required.
- Familiarity with basic principles of documentation using either laboratory notebook or batch record is required.
- One to two year’s experience in cell culture preparation and maintenance is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills are preferred.
- Ability to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time is required.
- Ability to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment) without endangering oneself or others.
- Ability to work at computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to wear standard laboratory PPE.
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
