Laboratory Technician

The Laboratory Technician position requires a motivated and self-directed individual to maintain the laboratory and laboratory supplies in a clean, ready, and working order. Future responsibilities may include taking part in cellular and molecular projects. Weekend work may be required.  

Skills and responsibilities:

• Receive daily shipments.
• Place orders, maintain inventory, and stock supplies.
• Wash, prepare, and maintain a ready supply of consumables, such as micro tubes, pipette tips, Pasteur pipettes, and LB plates.
• Autoclave bio-hazardous waste.
• Maintain small mouse facility, including cage changing.
• Prepare reagent solutions.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Assist with weekend cell feeding.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related science.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to problem solve.
• Cell culture experience desired.
• Effective time management skills and multi-tasking ability.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
