Account Manager - West Coast

This high-performance individual will manage current business and identify new opportunities within existing accounts, as well as identify, pursue, and close new opportunities within his/her territory. Responsibilities include direct sales of the company's products and/or services, including iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and stem cell based technologies within a geographic territory of pharmaceutical and biotechnical accounts. Must be able to communicate technical information on stem cell technologies and cardiotoxicity to a sophisticated audience,and identify and propose solutions to the research community. The one territory would include Southern California and the Southwestern United States. The other territory would include Northern California and the Northwestern United States. Must live within his/her territory.  

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Manage current business and identify new opportunities within existing accounts, as well as identify, pursue and close new opportunities within his/her territory.
  • Perform direct sales of the company's products and/or services, including iPS derived cardiomyocytes and stem cell based technologies within a geographic territory of pharmaceutical and biotechnical accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans, and provide accurate forecasts and reports of sales activity.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information on stem cell technologies and cardiotoxicity to a sophisticated audience, and identify and propose solutions to the research community.

Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree in biological science or related field
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years proven sales experience in life science
  • A minimum 2 years experience in a management or leadership position
  • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening, and closing
  • Strong technical background in pharmaceutical process and drug development
  • 40 - 50% travel required
